Pathkeepers Native Youth Campers on Capitol Hill and in the Senate Committee on Indian Affairs Hearing Room with Senator Jon Tester (Montana), Mary Pavel (Staff Director for SCIA), Chairman Darrin Old Coyote (Crow Nation), and Del Laverdure (Counselor to Chairman Old Coyote).
Pathkeepers Native Youth Campers visit the Bureau of Indian Affairs in Washington, D.C. where we meet with Nedra Darling, Mike Smith, Spike Bighorn, Jody Cummings, Gary Garrison, and Teddi. We then had lunch at Fredericks Peebles & Morgan at their new D.C. office (bottom right) where representatives of Senator Dorgan's Center for Native American Youth joined us to share information about their organization's programs and efforts on behalf of Native youth.
Campers visit the National Museum of the American Indian in Washington, D.C.
Campers embracing cultural activities, like pottery, flute, drumming and singing, and beading!
Campers Get Moving with a morning wake-up, stretch and run/walk; a Running/Yelling Game; Playing with Horses; and when the Pokagon Band of Potawatomi rolled into Camp with 14 members and they shared their songs and dances with us.
